Free lead-in-water tests for National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week

You are here

Dear Public Health practitioners,

In response to National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, the Get The Lead Out team at the University of Iowa are promoting the re-launch of the Get the Lead Out (GTLO) of Iowan’s drinking water program.

We are offering free lead-in-water tests to qualified participants.

We ask if you could share our website and program with those interested in your counties, especially at schools, pre-schools, or daycares, or through any social media outlets you have. Lead in water tests can be requested through our website. https://gettheleadout.uiowa.edu/

About Get the Lead Out:

The Get the Lead Out (GTLO) of Iowans’ drinking water program is an ongoing statewide drinking water testing program to let at risk Iowans find out how much lead is in their drinking water. The program was created when we noticed the shortcomings of the limited and inadequate water testing required by the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR). More information about our work can be found at: https://gettheleadout.uiowa.edu/about/

Thank you and best regards,

Drew Latta, Michelle Scherer, David Cwiertny, and Danielle Land
